W AKIM: Ambasaki and NAADA 1 Foundations support Asamankese Gov’t Hospital with medical supplies.

Elizabeth Ambasaki Foundation, a non-governmental organization in collaboration with NAADA 1 Foundation, another non-governmental organization in Ghana has presented assorted medical supplies to the Asamankese Government Hospital in the West Akim Municipality to help boost quality health delivery in the area.

The items included; Nebuliser with Tee; Tubing and Mouthpiece; Meriset Standard Bore extension set; Meriset 20 drops IV Administration Infusion set; Henry Schein 15 drops IV Administration Infusion set; Magellan 1mL Syringe with Hypodermic Safety Needle; Magellan Hypodermic Safety Needle; Magellen 3mL Syringe with Hypodermic Safety Needle; Swan-Lick Needlefree Access Vial Adapter; BD SafetyGlide Insulin (1mL 29Gx1/2).

The rest are Nexcare Knee & Elbow Bandages (clear, waterproof); Stat Strip adhesive bandages; MeriDerm Film, Sterile Transparent Film Dressing; Meriset 1cc/mL Luer Lock Tuberculin Luer Lock Tip, Disposable Syringes; MooreBrand Adult Tongue Depressors; Boxes of Bestsafe Disposable Gloves among others.

Presenting the items to the hospital, Rev. Kennedy Addo who represents the Elizabeth Ambasaki Foundation said, though the foundation was established just few years ago, the founder and president of the Foundation, Apostle Samson Ambasaki is determined to reach out to as many people and institutions as possible.

He said the sole aim of the Foundation is to help the less privileged in society.

According to him, it is their hope that these supplies will do some good to the patients and medical staff of the hospital.

He called for all hands on deck to help institutions like the hospital to offer the best services to the general public.

He commended Clement Otu Tei, also based in California - USA, a very close individual to the Elizabeth Ambasaki Foundation, for being very instrumental in the gathering of these items from the states for this donation.

Nana Dansoa Amamaah, Asamankese Kyidomhemaa NAADA1 Foundation expressed gratitude for the collaboration that will go a long way to impact positively on health delivery in the area.

She reminded the public to move away from self-medication and seek professional help by going to the hospital anytime they feel unwell in their body.

The Municipal Medical Director at the Asamankese Government Hospital, Dr. Samuel Agyeman Boateng said the supplies have come at the right time and will offer the hospital some financial relieve considering the high cost of medical supplies in the country.

He also added that these are items that are used on regularly, and daily basis; as such their availability is to the benefit of both patients and the medical staff for quality health delivery.

He said though Malaria is known to be the major causes of OPD cases, interventions by the Malaria Control program has been positive so far.

However, he called for special focus on Non-communicable diseases including hypertension and diabetes that are lifestyle diseases that are on the rise and the youth are reporting to the hospital with these conditions in high numbers.
