President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Mrs. Mary Juantoah as the new Bekwai Municipal Chief Executive in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 1993, Act 462.

The New nominee however, has to be approved by not less than two-thirds majority of members of the Assembly for confirmation.

Mrs. Mary Juantoah is among the thirty more MMDCE’s who were yesterday appointed by President John Mahama to head various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies after approval.

Meanwhile members of the assembly are also expected to converge as soon as possible to exercise their franchise on whether or not to consider their newly appointed MCE.
