Bekwai Municipality in the Ashanti Region has benefitted immensely from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET Fund) with the provision of modern educational infrastructure.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Noah Asante Manu stated that there is an ongoing construction of four primary schools in the municipality, which include Atweresu M/A Primary, Daa M.A Primary, Afransie Methodist Primary and Tsesewere M/A Primary.

He said the completion of the school would provide the needed facilities for quality education in the municipality. It would also encourage posting of teachers to the municipality and enhance effective teaching and learning.

On road construction, the MCE disclosed that Amoaful-Abodom and Zongo road networks are under construction to ease transportation in the area.

He noted that some of the bad roads at Bekwai which needs re-construction had been approved by government but not yet awarded to a contractor to start work while work on the bridge at Dotom is also ongoing.

Hon. Noah Asante Manu added that the contract for the construction of the major hospital has been awarded to Consar Company Ltd for to enable the people in the municipality to have access to quality health delivery.

On sanitation, he stated that Nyameduase, a community in the Bekwai municipality is to be provided with a 20 seater WC toilet to improve sanitation in the area.
