AHANTA W: DCE bemoans destruction of natural resources

The District Chief Executive for Ahanta West District in the Western Region, Mr. Joseph Dofoyenah has expressed dissatisfaction on the fast depletion of forest reserves and resources in the area and has therefore  called for drastic efforts to avert the situation.

According to him, more than half of the population in the area relies solely on the natural resources for living hence the need for its protection under all standards.

Mr. Dofoyena said proper care must however be taken before the country’s resources are completely destroyed by some unpatriotic citizen.

The DCE was speaking at a party held for the assembly member and staff of the Administration at Agona Nkwanta. 

He noted that his outfit was working assiduously to halt the situation adding that, working relationship with stakeholders with regards to environmental management has been taken into consideration.

Meanwhile, Presiding Member (PM) for the assembly, Mr. Ekumi Andoh also lamented on the Assembly’s failure in revenue collection and urged members to cooperate fully to improve on its revenue mobilization to ensure the forward march of the district.
