AHANTA W: Coordinating Council presents computers to institutions

The Western Regional Coordinating Council has presented laptops and scanners to eight Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and five institutions in the Western Region.

The Western Regional Coordinating Council has presented laptops and scanners to eight Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and five institutions in the Western Region.

Each Assembly received 18 laptops and the five institutions received five laptops and two scanners each.

The beneficiaries included Mpohor, Wassa East, Wassa Amenfi East, Ahanta West, Ellembelle, Sefwi-Wiawso and Bibiani Anhwianso Bekwai.

The rest were Tarkwa-Nsuaem Health Directorate, Sekondi-Takoradi Health Directorate, Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Regional Coordinating Council.

The Deputy Western Regional Minister, Mr Alfred Ekow Gyan, presented the items.

He said the items formed part of the Ministry of Communications’ programme of boosting the study of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in deprived district across the Region.

He said the laptops would be installed at district community information centres to enable people to access online services and other opportunities.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi-Wiawso, Mr Lawrence Ackah Santana, on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the government for the gesture.
