The Upper Denkyira East Municipal Assembly in its quest to promote education decided to ensure sound foundation for pupils with the establishment of early childhood centres.
The assembly through its district development facility constructed three kindergartens at three communities including Akyanekrom, Ntontom and Bibianiha.
Not only has the assembly assisted in putting up the new kindergarten blocks but also made sure pupils have the best comfort to learn in a conducive environment with the provision of tables and chairs.
Municipal Chief Executive, Peter Kofi Owusu-Ashia Jnr said when they get the foundation right they are sure of achieving their targets. He called for the involvement of the locals in promoting such initiatives to make them stand the test of time.
Many have called on government to attach some importance to early childhood education to turn the country’s falling standard in education around and this step by the assembly is commendable.
