The welfare of teachers in the Upper Denkyira East Municipality in the Central Region was given a boost with the completion of accommodation facilities for them.

Municipal Chief Executive, Peter Kofi Owusu-Ashia disclosed to Ghanadistricts.com the commitment of the assembly to upgrading education was well articulated with the successful completion of a number of projects.

Among them is the construction of six unit semi-detached teachers quarters each at Tegyamoso and Achiase. He added that the two projects were initiatives of the assembly and sponsored thought its share of the district development facility.

According to the MCE, the project was considered a priority in the education sector to woo teachers and help retain them in those areas.

Mr. Owusu-Ashia indicated that the assembly would continue to support and augment government interventions in the municipality to ensure accelerated development of human resources.

He said the projects are serving their purpose as a number of teachers are living in them.
