A physically challenged teacher has received a brand new Apsonic (AP 110-33) motorbike from the Northern Regional Education Directorate to ease her mobility in and around the area.

The disabled Ms Rebecca Yaa Chubari ,30 years of age has been teaching for more than three years now at the Solihiya Islamic Primary School in the East Gonja District (EGD).

She suffers from a medical condition described as lymphidemia, which is the swelling of fingers and foot, but has been meticulous with her work, even though the school is not very far from her home.

Mrs Elizabeth Deo-Souza, Northern Regional Director of GES who did the presentation said she spotted the teacher during one of her routine unannounced working visits in her class and that further investigations indicated that she was hard working hence the need to assist her.

She said based on that and other factors, the Regional Directorate of GES selected her to benefit from the facility, which formed part of the Northern Regional Best Teacher and Worker Awards held in May this year in Tamale.

Ms Rebecca Yaa Chubari was however grateful to the GES for the gesture shown her.
