The Ahafo Ano South District Assembly has taken a bold step at addressing the nagging issue of teachers’ accommodation by constructing new teachers’ quarters to house teachers who accept posting to the district.

The new housing facility located at Boateng Krom, a community within the district according to the DCE Thomas Kwakwa has been a dream come true since the assembly has long yearn for decent accommodation for all teachers who come to communities in the district to serve.

Teachers’ accommodation is currently one of the basic challenges that confront the educational sector in the country as newly trained teachers sometimes decline posting to rural areas as a result of housing challenges.

It is in the light of this that the Ahafo Ano South assembly according to the Chief Executive Mr. Kwakwah has strived to provide some housing facility for its teaching staff.

The DCE also noted that the assembly has also renovated and re-opened the Police Post at Pokua Krom to provide security for the people. According to him the station was neglected and closed down some years ago due to poor accommodation and office structure.

He added that the government of President Mills is concerned about every aspect of the people’s national lives and will go every extent to improve the living standard of Ghanaians.
