AHAFO ANO SOUTH : 63 new boreholes to confront acute water challenges

The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly has constructed 63 new boreholes in different communities in the district to drastically reduce the acute water challenges confronting residents of the area.

The Ahafo-Ano South District Assembly has constructed 63 new boreholes in different communities in the district to drastically reduce the acute water challenges confronting residents of the area.

The boreholes which are yet to be commissioned are part of several social interventions projects embarked upon by the assembly. The assembly will soon hold mini durbars in individual communities to commission all new projects.

Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com the DCE Thomas Kwakwah expressed satisfaction at the pace of development in the area. He was confident the boreholes will improve living conditions in the area.

Some of the communities that have benefited from the mass water project include Mpasaaso, Mpasaaso NO 1, Bonkwaaso NO 1, Betinko, Adesua, and Abodiase.

On education Kwakwah disclosed that the assembly under his leadership has constructed 6 new 3 - unit classroom blocks in different communities out of the assembly’s common fund. He noted that the assembly has also benefited from some GETfund projects in the area of infrastructural development citing the new teachers quarters at Boateng Krom and some new school buildings at Poku Krom , Mpasaaso and Bonkwaaso as typical examples.

He added that almost every community has seen some level of development since the NDC took over the administration of the district.
