The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Kwabre East District, Hon Iddisa Adams has called for collaboration from the two major political parties in the district for upward development in the district.
He said elections are over, and the era of identifying people by their political parties should be of the past.
Hon. Adams made this appeal when he paid a days working visit to some communities in the district to familiarize himself with the chiefs and people of the communities and to get first hand information about their plights and matters affecting them.
The communities visited were Bampenase, Assenua and Meduma. He said the Kwabre district is faced with many difficulties, and the only way those difficulties could be addressed is by getting the cooperation from everyone, especially the chief in the various communities who are the traditional custodians of the land.
He appealed to the chief and people in the various communities to support him in his endeavors, and also to be quick in prompting him whenever they find things going wrong in the district.
Hon. Adams promised that issues like education, tarring of roads, water and sanitation which are the major problems affecting the district will receive paramount attention under his administration.
He also appealed to the chiefs not to hesitate in consulting the Assembly whenever they want to embark on any self-help project.
“I am appealing to you to consult the Assembly for expert advice whenever you want to embark on any project in your community, so that the projects would be perfectly executed” he said.
Hon. Adams appealed to the chiefs to ask for God`s guidance on his behalf and that of the President and all government officials, so that the President will be able to deliver on most of the promises he made to Ghanaians prior to the 2008 Presidential and Parliamentary elections In December.
At Bampenase, the Gyaasehene, Nana Amoako Anarfi, congratulated Hon Adams Iddisa on his nomination and appointment as the District Chief Executive for the Kwabre Disttrict, and appealed to him to carry himself well in all his endeavours, in order not to bring the position of the District Chief Executive to disrepute.
At Assenua, the chief of the community, Nana Tutuapem appealed to the DCE to consult him and other chiefs whenever he needed their advice on any matters affecting the localities where they rule.
This, he said will bring about a cordial relationship between the Assembly and the traditional authority in the district.
Nana Barima Antwi, who represented the chief of Meduma in his absence, appealed to the DCE to come to the aid of the community in sectors like education, water and sanitation as he has promised to look at those areas as paramount to him.
He added that as a result of the school feeding program, enrolment in schools have increased drastically posing a lot of problems for the school authorities and the leaders in the community.
The DCE entourage included the Acting District Coordinating Director, Mrs. Vida Achiaa Yeboah, Mr. George Asante who at every community was made to explain to the communities, how they can mobilize to get some support from the Assembly, on how to access good drinking water; and other Heads of Department from the Assembly.
