He said the government had initiated many developmental projects and that it needed the support of the people in their implementation for the good of all.
Mr Baidoo said this when he addressed chiefs, assembly members, opinion leaders, school children and cadets from schools at the parade to mark the 58th independence anniversary celebration at Ashaiman.
The theme for this year’s parade was Achieving Transformation through National Unity.
But there were poor attendants of schools at the Ningo parade in the Ningo-Prampram District where four private basic schools and one Senior High School participated.
Nene Kanor Atiapa III, the Acting President of Great Ningo Traditional Area, said the appalling participation of schools in the independence anniversary celebration was to protest against the delay in giving Ningo a district status.
The Ningo people have been crying for a district since they were carved from the Dangbe West District.
Nene Atiapa said they saw this action as neglect because attention was not being given to them in terms of development.
