According to him, working hard will ensure they come out with good grades to qualify them into the respective Senor High Schools across the country.
The DCE made this statement when he and his entourage visited some selected basic schools in the Sekyere Kumawu district to welcome first time pupils to school – an annual celebration dubbed “my first day at school”.
He said government has identified education as critical in the building of a unified and thriving country. Hence teachers should put in their best to help mentor the children so that they can also become great assets to the country.
Hon. Addae Agyekum also debunked the licensing of teachers in the country and charged teachers to put in their maximum best to help pupils shine not only with academic laurels but with good morals.
The DCE gave this revelation in the midst of rumors that has generated lots of debate on whether or not teachers would be licensed before they taught in schools.
He later presented some items including school uniforms, drinks, biscuits, purse containing pencils, pens, erasers and sharpeners to the schools visited as a way of welcoming the children to a new academic year.
Schools visited include; Kumawu S.D.A, Bodomase D/A, Woraso D/A, Wioso D/A, Bodwease Presby and Temante Methodist Primary/KG schools.
