He said the world is getting to a level that education will be key for everyone to succeed, thus at this stage of their lives, they should not under estimate the importance of their education.

Hon. Assibey Bonsu made this known when he toured some schools in the Antoa circuit of the Kwabre East District as part of the My First Day at School programme of the government.  The programme is an annual programme to welcome fresher’s into the basic school.

Hon. Assibey Bonsu and his entourage toured some basic schools in Antoa, Adeisina, Adense, Abira and Nwamaase D/A Primary schools.

He said government was doing all it could to ensure that pupils in schools attain the best of education in order for them to achieve their dreams in future.  Thus the introduction of the Free SHS this year is an attestation of government’s will to improve education and to make the senior level of education the minimum qualification in education.

He therefore encouraged the pupils to take up their lessons seriously.  He appealed to them to devote all their time to the studying of books in order for them to pass their examination well to make governments’ contribution yield the desired results.

Again, Hon. Assibey Bonsu told the pupils to be respectful to their teachers, if they really want to be successful.

An average of 10 pupils was enrolled at the various schools on the second day of re-opening of school.

Head teachers at the various schools were also grateful to the District Chief Executive and his entourage for the visit.  They also promised to do their best to ensure that the pupils are well educated to become useful people to the society and the nation as a whole.

They also appealed the District Chief Executive to frequently visit them to boost their confidence and encourage them to do more.

Hon. Assibey Bonsu also applauded the teachers for consistently imparting knowledge into the pupils despite the various challenges they go through occasionally.

Snacks were presented to the pupils to boost their desire to always attend school.
