Mampong YEA organizes workshop for youth apprenticeship program
The Mampong National Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has organized a workshop for members of the Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP) on Wednesday, the 28th of October, 2020 at the Community Library in Mampong in the Ashanti Region.

Dr. Ansong Tweneboah from the Mampong Government Hospital, who was invited to address them as a Resource Person, gave an address to the apprentices and masters present on what Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are all about, the causes, effects, and prevention of these infections.
He said that it is advisable for them to use protection during sex to avoid getting infected with STIs and prevent unwanted pregnancies and abortions.
He stated that Sexual Transmitted Infections (STI) are mostly gotten through sex. He also said that these infections can be bacterial, fungal, or viral and that it is important to frequently go to the hospital for a check-up.
He advised that STIs can cause damage to both males and females and therefore cases should be reported to the nearest hospital for early treatment when signs of these infections start showing, to prevent it from developing any further.
Miss Marian Gloria Gyamfi, an Information Officer from the Information Services Department, also talked about Covid-19 and gave demonstrations on how to wash and sanitize their hands properly to avoid getting infected with the virus.
She stated that the virus is still in existence and thereby entreated the apprentices to observe all protocols at their workplaces.
