TANO S: DCE optimistic education will excel in his district

The education sector will excel in the Tano South District, according to the district chief executive, Collins Offinam Takyi.

He said he has strong conviction that various interventions being implemented will yield positive results particularly in improving educational standard in the district.

Speaking with ghanadistricts.com, the DCE noted that the free SHS policy has been well embraced by the people, adding, under the policy, Presec had 825 students, while Techimantia enrolled 600 students.

The DCE said some interventions have also been made to scale up infrastructure in the schools to address some of their challenges.
"Currently a hostel facility to accommodate some of the students has been awarded by the Assembly".

He underscored the positive and critical role education plays in the socio-economic development of every society, thus their quest for accelerated development would have education as the bedrock to achieving that.

The DCE indicated that their focus certainly will cut across all levels of education particularly basic education where strong foundation is required to make climbing up the ladder easier for the children.
