TWIFO A M: Member of Parliament inspects ongoing projects

The Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti Morkwa, Abrahan Dwumah Odoom has toured some ongoing projects in the Twifo Atti Morkwa District.

The Member of Parliament first visited the ongoing Euroget 60-bed district hospital project underway in the district.

The project according to Mr. Abrahan Dwumah Odoom was initiated under his regime when he was the deputy minister for health in 2008.

Although the project came to a stand-still from 2008 until 2017 when the president intervened for the contractor’s containers to be given tax exemptions for the project to continue.

The engineer for Euroget De-Invest, Engineer Ahmed Ali said the project will be ready for commissioning by September, 2020.



The Member of Parliament then cut sword for the construction of a modernized market for traders at Twifo Praso Yentie Obiaa market. The project engineer for Infrastructural Logistic Company, Mr. Fiifi Sangari assured the traders that work will be completed in four months.

Hon. Abrahan Dwumah Odoom then visited an ongoing bridge construction that will link a 1km road from the Twifo Praso District Assembly to the hospital road to see the progress of the work. He was impressed of the speedy work of the contractor.

As part of measures to help combat the global pandemic disease, Corona Virus, the Member of Parliament presented some items to the Presiding Member of the District to be distributed to remote areas to help prevent the spread of the deadly virus.



The items included: 15 Veronica buckets, 30Pcs of Tissues, 15 Bowls, 30Pcs of Small Liquid Soap, 41 boxes of Hand Sanitizers, 2boxes of Hand Gloves, 2boxes of Nose Covers and 6Pcs of Infrared Gun Thermometers.

The Presiding Member, Baiden Aggrey who received the items on behalf of the District Chief Executive, said the district was grateful for his immense contribution towards the fight against Covid-19. He also presented clothes to local seamstress to sow 6, 000 nose masks to be shared district-wide.

Finally, Hon. Abraham Dwumah Odoom inspected an ongoing 10km road from Twifo Praso to Twifo Ayaase.

He noted that, the road is a 54km stretch road from Twifo Praso to Dunkwa-on-Offin, but the contract has been awarded to different contractors.

He was hopeful work will be completed on schedule.
