The Municipal Chief Executive, Micheal Yaw Essuman Mensah who gave the assurance in an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com disclosed that about 16.3 kilometers of town roads are to receive attention, some of which will be tarred while others asphalted. Works on some of these roads are currently ongoing.

Among them include;
• Akwele Transformer - Akwele Newtown which will be tarred fully with gutters by the side;
• Kpometor Roman area roads,
• Ghana flag link,
• CP last stop - by-pass,
• CP Junction - Larota Juction
• Blue kiosk to Opeiluma Junction; and
• Interchange area – Akwele Transformer.

Additionally, all link roads are been reshaped to make them motorable.

Contracts for improvement of these roads according to the MCE was made possible through the hard work of the Member of Parliament for the area, Mavis Hawa Koomson as well as the Municipal Assembly.

He stated that though he is keen to ensure improvements on the deplorable roads in the municipality, the finances of the assembly cannot cope with such investments and will take the intervention of central government to have the roads fix, adding they will continue to knock at the doors of authorities to have their road problems addressed.

In a related development, a World Bank project for the construction of an ultra- modern transport yard free of charge has stated at the old Kasoa Station.

According to Mr. Micheal Mensah the Assembly was hinted by the World Bank project which they applied for and won, and that they look forward to the transformation of the transport terminal and beautification of the municipality at the completion of the project which is due in June.
