Government moves to boost security in Atebubu- Amantin

Government has presented two brand new pick-up vehicles to the Ghana Police Service in Atebubu to help aid police operations in the Atebubu Amantin municipality and its environs.

This was made known by the municipal chief executive Hon. Thomas Masud Musah Ayaaba at the first ordinary meeting of the assembly for the year in Atebubu.

“Plans are far advanced to deploy 100 personnel of the Police Service to our municipality” he said adding that the increase in police numbers will facilitate the opening of a number of police stations and posts in various communities within the municipality to help boost security.

“The municipal security council will continue to review the security situation and provide swift interventions to avert anything that has the potential to threaten the peace we are currently enjoying.” He continued.

Hon. Ayaaba expressed his gratitude to the security agencies especially the military for providing escort for travelers plying the Akokoa-Atebubu highway during the night adding that this has reduced the incidence of robberies on that stretch of the Kumasi-Atebubu-Yeji road and urged commuters to always cooperate with the military for their own safety.

The MCE used the occasion to stress the importance of peace to the developmentof the municipality and asked the assembly members to serve as agents of peace in their various communities.
