Currently, the district has about 81 basic schools comprising public and private institutions, ranging from Kindergarten to Junior High School levels. These schools operate within approximately 800 classrooms, reflecting the district’s growing commitment to improving access to education at the foundational level.

At the secondary level, the district is home to three Community Senior High Schools, which continue to provide opportunities for young people to further their education and build academic pathways for future development.

In a notable boost to tertiary education, Gomoa Central can also boast of a private university, Perez University College, located at Pomadze, which has contributed to expanding higher learning opportunities within the district.

Education stakeholders say the presence of institutions across all levels basic, secondary, and tertiary positions Gomoa Central as an emerging education hub in the Central Region.

Despite these gains, concerns remain over the need to further improve infrastructure, teaching resources, and learning environments to match the growing student population.

The Assembly is expected to continue prioritising education as a key development pillar, with plans aimed at strengthening school facilities, expanding access, and improving overall educational outcomes in the district.
