Gomoa West District fixes disaster ruined school-block
The Gomoa West District Assembly has rehabilitated Apam Methodist Primary School block, which was hit by a rainstorm on June 9, 2010 injuring 14 pupils.

The building, which was fixed at the cost of GHs 31,000 has been handed over to the school authorities.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Mrs. Augusta Akyea Sarpong, District Director of Education, called on parents to regard education as a poverty reduction strategy which should be handled diligently.
She noted that over-crowded classrooms affected quality teaching and learning, and commended the District Assembly for the numerous interventions to improve on educational pursuit in the area.
Mrs Akyea Sarpong also lauded the government for the prompt manner the Capitation Grant was being released to schools in the district.
Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive said government's commitment to invest in the country's human resource was on course.
He said last year more than 2,000 school uniforms were distributed free of charge to pupils in the district.
The number has increased to 4,500 this year.
The Very Revered Ebo Walters, Superintendent Minister of the Apam Circuit of the Methodist Church thanked those who made the rehabilitation exercise possible.
