According to him, this is the only way to rid the Electoral Area off water-borne diseases like typhoid, cholera among others. He mentioned Kwekrom, Akropong, and Akobima as communities that are in need of potable water.

The Assembly Member who made the appeal when speaking in an interview with Ghanadisatricts.com also called on government to extend electricity to every household.

He said “the electoral area is expanding and therefore the absence of any proper electricity extension project will lead to illegal connections that will go a long way to cause problems for the community”.

Touching on education, Mr Boateng noted that even though the assembly is putting up a 6-unit classroom block in Akropong, there was still the need to add a JHS building block so that the situation whereby primary pupils had to travel long distances to access JHS education becomes a thing of the past.

He also seized the opportunity to appeal for toilet facilities for all the schools to help improve sanitation in the area.
