These sessions brought together residents from the directly affected areas, including Ewoyaa, Krampahkrom, and Krofu, to voice their perspectives on the proposed lithium mining activities within the municipality.

The engagements, held over two days amid growing national interest in Ghana's emerging lithium sector, aimed to foster open dialogue and gather firsthand concerns from community members. Lithium, a critical mineral for modern technologies like electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy storage, holds significant promise for economic growth. However, the sessions underscored the Assembly's commitment to balancing industrial advancement with the well-being of local populations.

Participants raised key issues ranging from potential environmental impacts, such as water resource management and land rehabilitation, to employment opportunities, infrastructure improvements, and revenue-sharing mechanisms that could drive local development. Assembly officials and Ministry representatives actively listened, documented feedback, and outlined preliminary regulatory frameworks designed to mitigate risks and maximize benefits.

Speaking on behalf of the Assembly, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area Eric Stanley Acquah emphasized the government's dedication to responsible mining. "These engagements are not mere formalities; they are the foundation of a mining project that prioritizes our people," he noted. The sessions also featured educational segments on lithium extraction processes, safety protocols, and Ghana's broader Minerals Development Policy, empowering residents with knowledge to contribute meaningfully.

The MCE further said plans are compiling and act on the feedback received, with follow-up town halls scheduled in the coming months. Stakeholders, including traditional leaders, youth groups, and women's organizations, hailed the initiative as a model for participatory governance in resource-rich areas.

In an official assurance to the affected communities, the Government of Ghana has reaffirmed its resolve to oversee the lithium mining operations in the Municipality with the utmost care. "We will do all within our power to ensure that this venture is carried out successfully, promoting sustainable local development while safeguarding community interests, cultural heritage, and environmental integrity," the statement read. This includes rigorous environmental impact assessments, community benefit agreements, and ongoing monitoring by independent bodies.

As Ghana positions itself as a leader in Africa's critical minerals landscape, these engagements signal a new era of community-centered mining. Residents are encouraged to stay engaged through the Assembly's communication channels for updates on project timelines and opportunities.
