Gomoa West curbing menace of open defecation
Open defecation has been a long standing menace to proper environmental health.

It is in view of this and the desire to completely eradicate open defecation in the Gomoa West District that is taking steps to clamp down on the practice to improve sanitation in the district.
To this end, some selected communities are expected to benefit from a ten seater modern water closet facility each and mechanised boreholes as source of water for use.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Bismark Baisie Nkum disclosed that the initiative is under the auspices of the Ministry of Special Development Initiative.
He expressed delight that the Assembly was able to lobby for such intervention which has already commenced in some communities.
Apam community is benefiting so far, whiles Dago and other communities are ongoing. The project is expected to be executed in the next two month.
In a related development, the Mr Nkum disclosed that there is an ongoing discussion for an agreement for the construction of an automated toilet facility in due course.
