Breaking News: Gomoa West DCE confirmed

The Gomoa West Assembly in the Central Region has endorsed Mr Bismark Nkum as District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, following his reappointment by President Akufo-Addo on Sunday.

In all, thirty-nine out of a total of fifty-two Assembly members voted ‘yes’ to confirm the President’s nominee, who also doubles as the President of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG).

The figure represents 75% of the total votes cast.

He is the first to be confirmed as DCE since the release of all 260 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives for various local assemblies across the country.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com following his confirmation today, the obviously excited DCE expressed his gratitude to the President for the confidence reposed to continue his good works by repointing him.

He pledged to work tirelessly and also run an open door administration in order to accelerate development in the area.

He also seized the opportunity to thank the Central Regional Minister, Marigold Assan, Information Minister Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah for their unflinching support.

He again thanked members of the assembly and staff for their support to see him endorsed as DCE for the area.

He urged them to eschew their political difference but rather work together in unity to ensure the growth of the district and country as a whole.
