Gomoa West Communities Receive Mechanised Boreholes to Address Water Challenges

Communities in the Gomoa West District have received two major water interventions aimed at addressing water challenges and improving access to safe and reliable drinking water.

With the support of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Kassim, a community mechanised borehole was handed over to the people of Gomoa Debiso. The project forms part of several interventions being undertaken by the office to help mitigate the temporary water challenges facing the area.

Efforts are also underway to expedite the implementation of the Government’s planned water projects in Gomoa West. Engagements are ongoing with the Ghana Water Company Limited and the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CoWASA) to facilitate the commencement of the projects.

In another significant intervention, the people of Gomoa Osadze have also received a borehole equipped with a reverse osmosis water purification system, providing the community with access to safe and clean drinking water.

The facility was generously sponsored by The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited following an initiative by the Gomoa Osedze Development Association (Mpuntu Kuw).

These interventions reinforce the commitment of stakeholders to addressing the immediate needs of communities while working towards sustainable development in Gomoa West.

Expressing gratitude to the development partners, the office called on individuals, organisations and other stakeholders to support the Gomoa West development agenda.

The ultimate goal, it said, is to ensure that every community in Gomoa West has sustainable access to safe and reliable drinking water.

Beneficiary communities have also been encouraged to take ownership of the facilities, protect them and ensure their proper maintenance to guarantee their long-term sustainability.

With continued collaboration between government, traditional authorities, development partners and local communities, stakeholders remain hopeful that current challenges can be overcome and a better and more prosperous Gomoa West can be built.
