50,000 trees to be planted in Kintampo South
As part of efforts to sustain the environment, the government through the Forestry Commission under the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has launched a major cross-cutting initiative on biodiversity, climate change, and energy and resource efficiency dubbed ‘Green Ghana project’.

This initiative is to see to it that 20 million trees are planted all over the country today 10th June, 2022.
This year’s Green Ghana Day was also observed in Kintampo South District at the District Assembly premises.
The District Chief Executive of the area, Mr Opoku Nyame encouraged all persons to support the project to help restore the country’s depleting forest reserves.
In all a total of 50,000 trees are earmarked to be planted in various schools, farms, within principal towns, homes among others.
