The disbursement is part of the government's social protection intervention to empower and enhance the living standards of the marginalized and vulnerable groups in society.

Mr. Zubeiru Abdulai, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Pusiga, who disclosed this at a durbar also presented welding and fabricating equipment that the Assembly received from the government through the Rural Enterprise Programme and startup cash to the beneficiaries in the district.

Mr. Abdulai said the beneficiaries requested to go into various trades including; animal rearing, small-scale businesses among others.

He said one of the challenges facing PWDs was how to manage the fund and said a committee was set up to get resource persons to train them in financial management, records keeping, customer care among others in order to keep them in business.

The DCE urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the animals and cash amounts given to them to venture into trades.

Madam Ophelia Laadi Amadu, Chairperson for the Fund ManagementCommittee, called on those whose names were not captured on the list to exercise patience as the office was poised to cover all PWDs in the district.
