He said though there is room for improvement, authorities at the Municipality are not oblivious of what needs to be done to improve the situation; adding that the quest to find solutions to some of these that the Assembly has targeted the construction of a 40-bed capacity female ward at the Kade Government Hospital as its 35th Anniversary Project.
Mr. Seth Antwi Boasiako, the MCE disclosed that with its large land size and population, the Assembly cannot only rely on the Kade Government Hospital; hence additional 18 Community-based health planning and services (CHPS) compounds are running to assist in meeting the health needs of the people.
Meanwhile, additional works are ongoing to beef up these health centres. In recent times, three more CHPS centres were built; and two including Techiman and Pramkese were later upgraded into clinics for the community.
Government, he noted, is also assisting the Assembly in constructing three more health centres at Otume, Mempeasem, and Nkwantanan all of which are at 80 % completion rate; while the Assembly itself is building the Atobreso CHPS centre which is also 65% complete.
The MCE said their hope of expanding infrastructure at the Kade Government Hospital remains key to them as it serves as a major referral hospital to all these CHPs centres in the municipality as well as adjoining ones.
