MCE calls for attitudinal change to curb HIV
Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kwaebibirem, in the Eastern Region, Mr Seth Antwi Boasiako is calling for attitudinal change especially among the youth to help reduce their chances of contracting the deadly Human Immune Virus (HIV).

According to him, recent statistics indicates that, the HIV menace is currently on the rise in the Municipality; hence the need for citizens to develop attitudinal change to help curb the menace, which will gradually destroy human resource base if care is not taken.
Disclosing this at the Assembly’s Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, the MCE noted that, 77 persons (26 males: 51 females) out of 955 tested positive for HIV/AIDS in 2017 in the area.
He added that, the figure increased to 210 (156 females: 54 males) out of Two thousand and ninety nine (2099) persons tested who were tested for HIV/AIDS in 2018.
The MCE, who described the figures as very alarming however, assured Assembly Members that the Assembly, as a matter of urgency, is putting pragmatic measures in place to sensitize the people to bring the challenging menace to the barest minimum.
