Kwaebibirem Assembly commissions ultra modern maternity complex
The Kwaebibirim Municipal Assembly in the Eastern region has commissioned an ultra modern maternity complex to help improve child delivery at Kade, the Municipal capital and its surrounding communities.

The new facility comes with a mordern Theatre, Theatre sterilization rooms, Theater recovery room, Postnatal wards, Doctors rooms, Gynaec Ward, Minor Theatre room, Maternity In-Charge Office among others.
Speaking at a colourful ceremony, Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Eric kwakye Daffour reiterated government’s commitment to completely eliminate the number of deaths recorded during pregnancy and after delivery, especially in deprive communities.
According to him, the government through the health ministry has put several plans in place to reduce the number of stillbirths and other pregnancy related complications.
This, he said, include the provision of necessary infrastructure and equipment to help improve the situation.
Mr Daffour, therefore, urged pregnant women to cease the opportunity to visit the health facility at recommended and scheduled time periods in order to reduce their risk of developing delivery complications.
He also commended the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr Seth Antwi Boasiako for taking giant steps to complete the project which commenced 17 years ago.
He charged various communities to always endeavor to partner the government in its bid to foster development that will go a long way to benefit them.
On his part, the MCE underscored the importance of the facility, insisting that the new maternity block will help provide medical support for pregnant women within Kade and its surrounding communities.
He reminded nurses in the area of their responsibility saying that, apart from the physical support and healthcare they provide they are also expected to provide emotional support to patients who are on admission.
He therefore admonished them to attach professionalism to their line of work in order to save more lives the area.
He also urged them to adopt maintenance culture to help protect the facility's life span.
