This advice was given by the District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Reginald Aboagye Osae during a visit to Akyem Takyimang on a familiarization tour.
He said though mosquito eradication units had been formed by Zoomlion, as part of the National Youth Employment programme, it would be necessary for every citizen to help fight mosquitoes, which causes malaria, the main killer disease in Ghana.
This, they could do, by avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse and also ensuring that there were no stagnant water in or near their settlements, as well as clearing their surroundings of weeds.
The Ankobeahene of the town, Opanin Frempong, pleaded for a Senior High School in the town, to take care of the numerous neighbouring towns and villages, noting that, the project had been on the assembly’s drawing board for years without taking-off.
The DCE assured that the programme to build the senior high school had not been abandoned but would surely be implemented.
