JHS students recieve free exercise books from MP
More than 2000 junior high students in the Berekum West District of the Bono region have received free exercise books from the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Kwaku Agyenim Boateng popularly called Agogo.

Presenting the books at a durbar, on behalf of the MP, the constituency chairman of the NPP, Mr. Peter Asoma Boampong said the MP's initiative is in line with the President's free education policy to reduce burden and pressure on parents in their quest to provide quality education for their children.
He continued that, the MP who is also the Deputy Minister of Railways, has education as his highest priority and has supported education in the district in diverse ways. “Our MP values quality education so much that over the years he has organized free vacation classes and distribution of exercise books”. He said. “The MP has contributed a lot to education and he is on course to improve the quality of education in the district.” He added.
Nana Tutu Baffour Asare II Akyempemhene of Berekum Traditional Council and Chief of Jinijini commended the MP for the kind gesture and encouraged parents to take advantage of the various interventions in education to send their children to school. He encouraged them to support the children to remain in school to ensure a brighter future for them.
He admonished the students against vices that would have negative impact on their education and lives, and advised them to take their education serious. The students thanked the MP for the kind gesture and pledged to study hard to compliment his efforts.
The over 2000 students drawn from both the public and private schools in the district received 10 pieces of exercise books each.
