Berekum West DCE visits BECE centres
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Berekum West, Mr. Dominic Oppong on Monday 15th November, toured the two examination centres in the district as candidates sit for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

In the company of the district director of education, Mr. David Owusu Ansah and some officials, Mr. Oppong, who prior to his appointment was a head teacher, encouraged the candidates to be confident.
He asked them to make their parents and the district proud by coming out with flying colours.
“Don’t be nervous, relax and you will be able to understand the questions and remember all that you have learned in school.” He said.
He advised them not to indulge in examination malpractices but rather abide by all the rules covering the BECE.
The District Director of Education, Mr. David Owusu Ansah encouraged the students to be confident instead of entertaining fear and relying on ‘apor’ to write the exams. “You are the future leaders of this country and your journey to greatness and a successful life begins now so make the most of it.” He said.
In an interview with some of the candidates after the first paper which was social studies, they were confident of success and described the first paper as ok.
They were optimists; they will come out with flying colors.
A total of 930 pupils made up of 454 males and 476 females from 32 public and private schools are sitting for this year’s Basic Examination Certificate Examination from Monday 15th November to Friday 19th November at two examination centers in the Berekum West District.
