JUABEN: MP cuts sod for ultra-modern toilet facility

The Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ama Pomaah Boateng has officially cut-sod for the commencement of two 16-seater water closet toilet facilities at Abesim and Achiase.

These two sanitary facilities are hoped to solve sanitation related issues in the Juaben Municipality.

Ama Pomaa Boateng, speaking at the programme expressed worry at the fact that majority of Ghanaians luck access to toilet facilities and that, it was responsible for the incidence of open defecation amongst the people.

The initiative, she said, was to promote a healthy atmosphere by keeping the environs as clean as possible for sustainable development.

The projects, being funded by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), are to be completed within six months to improve sanitation in those areas.



On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Juaben Municipal Assembly, Mr. Kodjo Ansah-Sem said there was the need for strict adherence to the various national and local environmental sanitation laws and regulations advocated.

He appealed to the people to be supportive of the government's numerous sanitation programmes to help end rampant open defecations in the country.



The Chief of Abesim a suburb of Juaben, Nana Sarpong Gyaebodwe ll, who was the chair person for the occasion commended the (MP) for her tremendous performance to redeem the campaign promises and thanked the MCE, for his cordial relationship with the MP to foster more development in the Juaben Municipality.
