Atiwa Assembly rejects President Nominee
The Atiwa District Assembly on Thursday failed to confirm Mr Emmanuel Attah-Twum, the President’s nominee as the District Chief Executive (DCE).

Mr Attah-Twum, the incumbent DCE, polled 27 votes out of the 45 assembly members present, representing 60 per cent in an election conducted by Mr Paul Mensah-Bonsu, Deputy Eastern Regional Director of the Electoral Commission.
Mr Kwesi Amoako-Attah Member of Parliament for Atiwa West called on the assembly members to bury their political differences and work towards the interest of the area.
He commended Mr Attah-Twum for collaborating with everyone not withstanding their political differences.
Mr Attah-Twum is not a corrupt DCE,he added, and said it would be appropriate if he was retained to help in the development of the area.
Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong, Deputy Regional Minister expressed appreciation to the assembly members for voting peacefully.
She told them that until the district gets a DCE development could come to a halt.
