Atiwa East DCE commends MP for providing maternity beds

District Chief Executive for Atiwa East Nkansah Kwabena Panin has commended the lawmaker for Atiwa East Constituency, Abena Osei-Asare for providing maternity beds for Abekwase chips compound.

According to the DCE, the former health director of Abekwase and health staff put before him a lot of issues including maternity beds but since the requests were beyond him, he discussed it with the MP for help.

“As a mother who understands issues of delivery she has taken steps to address the problem, it is sad that in other places I witness the maternity place is waterlogged”.

Mr. Adaeimrukum the Nurse in charge of the chips compound also thanked the MP for delivering on her promise.

The chiefs in Abekwase urged the MP to bring more things to the community and reminded her to help address issues of electrification so that they can get electricity in their houses.

Speaking in an interview with people from the community, though they appreciated the kindness of the MP, they wanted more beds, adding that because of inadequate beds they lost pregnant women, while others struggle in giving birth, and others die without getting bed to sleep on.
