And through this effort, 400 dual desks, cupboards, office chairs for teachers, and library furniture to some selected schools were presented to the education directorate represented by Mr. Dzanado Yao Dominic.
The MP indicated that these new desks would certainly not address all the challenges in the educational sector within the District or the Constituency but it is a further step they have made towards the improvement in the education of the children.
He added that education remains a priority area for him and so, they are not only ensuring accessibility but are also ensuring that they provide the necessary infrastructure to help facilitate teaching and learning in the schools.
Mr. Nortsu Kotoe explained that, “at a time, i was receiving 200 of the dual desks from GETFUND, following an earlier appeal I made to them. My counterpart -the DCE, Peter Simon Ofosu was also receiving another set of 200 as a result of an appeal he also made. This is a further demonstration of the fact that, together, we can develop the District”.
The DCE, Mr. Peter Ofosu entreated the directorate to make sure the desks are taken care of so that they can be used for a longer period, adding that these 400 dual desks will go a long way in reducing the canker of furniture deficit in the schools and will be provide sitting space for a total of 800 pupils across the beneficiary schools in the District.
