The drains, measuring three (3) kilometers, are being constructed by Top Range Construction Limited.

At the ceremony to mark the commencement of the project on Thursday, 28th May 2020, the Chief of Tetegu, Nii Kofi Kuma, was full of praise for the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the MP and the MCE for the numerous developmental projects in Tetegu within a space of three (3) years.

He said, like Oliver Twist, he would ask for more since land is available for more developments.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Mercy Quansah, asked the people to pay their rates in order for the assembly to do more for the community.

She said the community should strive to overtake the New Weija Electoral Area in the payment of rates and levies.

Madam Tina Mensah said the people of Tetegu are really fortunate to have a modern clinic, a school, an institutional toilet facility, and drains being constructed and at different stages of completion.

She asked them to continue to support the government's agenda of providing infrastructure in the community.

The MCE, Patrick Kumor, said it is the plan of the Municipal Assembly to make Tetegu Ahwiahwia a model community which will rub shoulders with prime areas in Accra.

He called for support from the people in pursuing this project.

Some residents, who spoke to the media, said they were very happy to see the drains being constructed. According to them, when completed, the perennial flooding of the community anytime there is a downpour, would be a thing of the past.
