Weija-Gbawe MCE Inspects Projects In The Municipality

An inspection of some project sites in the Weija-Gbawe municipality has been conducted by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly.

The routine inspection on Tuesday, 25th May 2021, took the MCE and his team to project sites in some of the electoral areas.

The team started at the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Hospital where an infectious diseases and diagnostic centre, residential accommodations for staff and dormitories for inmates of the Weija Leprosarium are being built.

Ing. Ankrah, site engineer of the project, welcomed Hon. Patrick Kumor and his team to the site.

The project which is expected to be completed and handed over in a few months, is almost completed.

One of the residential accommodations is expected to be occupied in the next few weeks.

The EU/WGMA abattoir at Gbawe was the next stop.

The project which comprises a feed mill, a breeding centre, an abattoir and offices, is at its last stages of completion.

The Works Engineer, Ing. William Okpoti and his technical team were busily supervising the installation of machines in one of the buildings.

The MCE next visited the site of the science based senior high school at Weija.

The site engineer, Ing. Gordon, took the team round the site which is seventy (70) percent completed.

One of the four (4) clinics with staff bungalows being built at Weija, was inspected by Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE).

The project is progressing steadily.

At Azumah last stop in the New Weija West Electoral, where a culvert is being constructed, workers were casting concrete over weaved iron rods along the stretch.

Hon. Kumor (MCE) was highly impressed with the zeal and enthusiasm of the workers and commended them.

The motorable fifty (50) metre bridge to link Old and New Weija to ease traffic on the main Mallam/ Kasoa highway is in progress.

Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) and his team were on site to inspect the extent of work on the project.

The site engineer, Ing. Daniel Berko, welcomed the team and took them round the site.

In an interview with the media, the Municipal Chief Executive expressed satisfaction at the ongoing works and said, with the pace of development in the municipality, it would sooner than later rub shoulders with the prime communities in the capital.

He made special mention of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, for her immense contribution to the development of the Weija-Gbawe municipality.
