Tema West Assembly commissions new police office complex
The Tema West Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Naa Adukwei Addo has commissioned an ultra-modern police office complex for personnel in the municipality.

The new office complex, which was funded by through District Assemblies Common Fund has conference hall, kitchen, offices for in charge and other departments of the Police service, male, female and juvenile cells among others.
Speaking at the commission on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Director General, who is the Administrator of the Ghana Police service applauded the District Assemblies Common Fund Secretariat and Tema West Municipal Assembly for funding the project and urged other institutions to also come on board to help the Police service.
COP Yohuno who officially received the keys to the edifice on behalf of the police administration, hinted that, in line with measures to enhance 24/7 effective supervision of officers and services, as to relieve the burden on the few Police officers, the police administration has taken steps to enhance the number of commissioned officers to ensure that senior officers at the district level across the country run a shift system.
He said, in line with this, 308 cadet officers were undergoing a revised training module that was designed to improve upon the quality of training.
“The module emphasizes on more simulation exercises and practical lessons, to turn out competent officers to deliver upon their academy.”
“In view of this, I am therefore urging all personnel to discharge their duties professionally, and also bearing in mind that the service will never entertain indiscipline among its men.”
Handing over the structure to the police administration, Madam Anna Adukwei Addo, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) appealed to the Inspector General of Police to equip the police stations in the Tema West Municipality to improve upon the manpower capacity and delivery time to security challenges.
She added that the reason why the Assembly put up the edifice was to enhance structure to impact crime prevention, protection and response time to threats; adding that, the edifice will also motivate the police personnel, workers and staff as the working environment is associated with public confidence.
The MCE later commended parties and stakeholders for providing leadership amidst challenges and prioritizing the completion of the project.
