Weija-Gbawe Assembly to construct 100 household sanitary facilities

The Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly will construct one hundred (100) household sanitary facilities (toilets) in the municipality.

This was made known to newsmen by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, on Friday, 29th May 2020.

The construction of the biogas digester technology sanitary facilities is under the auspices of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources.

The project is being supervised by the Greater Accra Sustainable Sanitation and Livelihoods Improvement Project (GASSLIP) and contracted to Global Unity Trust Limited.

The project duration is six (6) calendar months.

According to the MCE, the government will absorb seventy percent (70%) of the cost (Ghc 3,167.50) and the beneficiary households will take thirty percent (30%), (Ghc 1357.50) per household.

Mr. Patrick Kumor (MCE), said the Municipal Environmental and Health Department of the Municipal Assembly will be in charge of the project.

He appealed to households to take advantage of the project.
