NANUMBA S: DCE urges youth to devote enough time for agriculture
The District Chief Executive for the Nanumba South District; Hon. Natogmah Ibrahim Mukàila has asked the youth within the district to embrace agriculture as a full time job.

According to him, the Government of Nana Akuffo Addo has vowed to transform agriculture in a manner that it would soon become one of the sectors everybody would wish to be involved in.
He outlined some of the interventions Government has so far introduced in the sector to ensure that agriculture regains its past glories where it would be able to absorb many of the idling unemployed graduates in particular and the youth in general.
He mentioned the introduction of the Planting for Food and Jobs which goes with the supply of highly subsidised fertilizer and quality seeds, the One District One Factory, the One District One warehouse, the One Village One Dam among others.
He made these remarks when he addressed a cross section of the population of the District on the occasion of the 33rd farmers Day celebration in Wulensi: the capital of the Nanumba South District.
He saluted the gallant farmers of the District for sustaining the food security in the area especially the award winners.
Ultimately, the District best farmer went to Mr. Zakari Mustaph of the Ghana Education Service Office in the District.
The Hon. DCE appealed to the entire farmer fraternity to take advantage of the Government numerous interventions in the sector to increase productivity to raise more income for the up keep of their homes and by extension, take care of the education of their children to higher levels.
As the day coincided with the World HIV and AIDS DAY, the DCE took the opportunity to passionately caution the youth and the farming fraternity to be mindful of their sexual transactions in a manner that they will be safe from the disease to enable them continue with their farming and other business activities.
He was of the view that it was only when there is peace that all of these expectations would come to pass. As a result, he humbly assigned every inmate of the District to help improve and sustain the current relative peace the District has enjoyed for a little over two (2) decades.
He called on all to be part of the success story of the District in the near future. He appreciated the efforts of all including the staff of the D/A, development partners of the D/A and the community members for grazing the occasion. Attached are some pictures of the occasion.
