NANUMBA S: DCE inspects cashew nursery

The Hon. District Chief Executive for the Nanumba South District in the Northern Region, Mr. Natogmah Ibrahim Mukaila has encouraged those incharge of raising cashew seedlings at Nassamba to be keen on their work to make the seedlings available for farmers in the district.

The DCE in the company of the District Coordinating Director and the District Director of Agriculture, visited Nassamba, a community about nine (9) kilometers away from the District capital, Wulensi where cashew seedlings are being raised.

He said the district intends to expand cashew production as one of main economic crops taking advantage of the favourable conditions the government is making available, and indicated that the seedlings are needed for distribution to those farmers who will need it in order to achieve their goal.

According to the Director of Agriculture in the area, forty farmers made up of both men and women are engaged in managing the site where thirty-eight (38) thousand cashew seedlings are being raised.
