Nanumba S: Simon Naja crowned district best farmer

Mr. Simon Naja of Kanjo has been crowned the overall District best farmer at the 34th edition of the National Farmers Day programme at the Nanumba South District of the Northern region.

He took home a motor bike and some other valuable items as his award.

In all, twenty five (25) male and female farmers also received major awards for their massive contribution towards food security in the country.

Speaking to the event, District Chief Executive of the area, Mr. Nantogmah Ibrahim Munkaila saluted the gallant farmers for working tirelessly to ensure that enough food is produced for both local and foreign markets.

He indicated the NPP-Government has invested heavily in agriculture and it will only take the patience and peaceful co-existence of the diversity of the people of area to ripe the benefits of such huge investments.


He likened the peace of the area especially to a pilot of a giant airplane who needs be protected for a safe journey or else, all passengers aboard are lifeless on the event of a crash.

He sounded this much following rumors making rounds on social media and on grapevine that there shall be war in the area in the course of time.

He warned that Government together with the security fraternity was more than alert and will not hesitate to subject any individual or group who dares the security of the nation irrespective of the part of the country to the full flames of the laws of the land.

He entreated everyone to be an ambassador of the peace of the land.
