DCE meets caterers of school feeding programme

The Sekyere Central District Assembly headed by Mr. Benjamin Kingsley Koduah has met with all caterers of the school feeding program in the District to dialogue on how they can improve on the quality of meals and find solutions to challenges confronting them.

In the interaction, the DCE strongly urged non-performing caterers to up their game and encouraged the education directorate to establish good rapport with caterers to ensure that guidelines and regulations of the feeding programme are adhered to.

He bemoaned on reports of how some caterers have misconduct themselves.


“It is mandatory to provide nutritious meals in the right quantity to pupils in schools you have been engaged in, and nothing short of this would be accepted by my outfit, tell us your challenges so that together we can find an amicable solution to them and in the end I believe, all parties will be satisfied with the solutions”, he added.


Caterers who were elated by the guileless conversation commended the DCE for the initiative and called for more of such interactions. They also promised to respect rules and regulations governing the Program but prayed that government releases funds for the Program on time.


Representative from the Regional School Feeding Secretariat, District Director of Education, and Convener for Social Services and District Desk officer for the program were in attendance.
