The 6-unit classroom block was initially awarded in 2019 to a contractor with funding from GETFund but the contractor abandoned the site after a few months of work and all efforts to get him back to site proved futile.

Through the hard work of the District Chief Executive, he got the contract terminated through necessary procedures. This was a result of several efforts made by my office and other stakeholders.

Based on this, the 6-Unit classroom block was re-awarded to Chassey Premium Ltd. Chassey Premium Ltd has 6 months to execute the contract. When done, this will improve upon teaching and learning in the area as the population of the school is huge.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the Chief of Kpegu Ubor Tamanja Kunji could not hide his excitement as the project has been rewarded.

The DCE took the opportunity to advise the community to ensure that they support the contractor to produce quality work and shun away from buying the building materials meant for the school.

He said “If you buy cement, iron rods or any material meant for the construction of this school, you are buying your child’s future”.

He was accompanied by Mrs. Janet Adua, District Director of Education and Officers from the Saboba District Assembly.
