Regional Vice President of World Bank visits Otumfo

The visit forms part of Mr. Diagana’s familiarization tour of the region access the feasibility of the KU-MAP- (Kumasi Urban Mobility and Accessibility Plan), a new Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system which is expected to be constructed in Kumasi and its adjoining Municipalities.
Mr. Ousmane Diagana, as part of his visit, also seized the opportunity to tour the various corridors of the project, including Ejisu, Tech Junction, Sofoline, Tanoso and Abuakwa, Central Market and Dr. Mensah, Alabar to acquaint himself with the local transport system as well as the congestion in the business district.
Randy Wilson, Head of the Department of Transport for KMA emphasized that the introduction of a Bus Rapid Terminal system would help reduce traffic congestion, making transit easier.
He added that the system would also enhance productivity in various workplaces.
Meanwhile, the team from the world bank was received by Michael Owusu Amoako, the Chief Director of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council and other heads of department.
