Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the MCE noted that his administration will look at working consciously by putting in place measures that will drive the development aspiration of the metropolis for the next decades.

“I want to have a Kumasi that is built on a long term plan that is robust and resilient and can drive our development aspiration for the next fifteen to twenty-five years”, he disclosed.

To achieve this, the Mayor, highlighted his desire to ensure a clean environment, devoid of decongestion and also creating an enabling environment for investment to thrive.

Touching on the decongestion exercise, Mr Agyeman Boadi noted that the assembly had in recent weeks conducted massive decongestion exercises in the Central Business District of Kumasi.

The move, he noted, was aimed at ridding the area of hawkers who sell on pavements as well as pull down all illegal structures built along roadsides and unauthorized areas.

He added that the exercise will not be a nine day wonder as it is expected to continue till his time expires as Mayor of Kumasi.

On sanitation, he said, the assembly will soon roll out modern ways of collecting waste in the Central Business District to ensure that Kumasi regains its status as the cleanest city in West Africa.
