Banda Assembly holds second ordinary assembly meeting

The Banda District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region as at June this year, mobilized a total revenue of GH?132, 146.00 as against an annual target of GH? 327,762.00, representing 40% of the target.

The District Chief Executive (DCE), Madam Mary Konneh made this disclosure at the Assembly’s second ordinary meeting at the New Administration Block, Banda Ahenkro.

She was however doubtful of the Assembly’s ability to meet their target since the cashew season was over.

Mentioning some of the projects the Assembly has undertaken, the DCE said
• Dorbor-Kojie-Dumoli and Boase-Beima-Nsawkaw feeder roads have been completed;
• Completion of Sanwa CHPS compound which is left with furnishing to be operational,
• Drilling and Mechanization of 3 boreholes.

She also indicated that plans are far advanced for the construction of polyclinic with the financiers set to commerce the project in the year 2019.

The DCE in her address said, a total of 92 small holder farmers made up of 78 males and 14 females were supplied with improved seeds and fertilizer to cultivate a total of 104.5 acres of land with regards to the planting for Food and Jobs initiative.

She indicated that, government through the Ministry of Food and Agriculture supplied the district with pesticides to fight against the fall army worm which a total of 98 farmers in the district comprising of 78 males and 20 females benefited with a total of 120.1 hectares of land sprayed.
